Mike is a native of Maryland and has more than 20 years experience practicing law. He is one of the few attorneys in the region who has served as an attorney in all three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. He was also in house counsel, and ultimately the Interim Attorney General, for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, the only federally recognized Indian Tribe in North Carolina. In private practice, Mike focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, workers compensation, family law, state and local government law, debt collection, and land disputes. He also welcomes issues involving Indian law and the rights of Native Americans, with an emphasis on legal matters and business relations with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
