Bill Cannon Attends the Winter Meeting of the North Carolina Bar

Bill Cannon attended the Winter Meeting of the North Carolina Bar Association Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation held at the Bar Center in Cary on January 26, 2012.  The meeting included a report on the new Judicial Nominating Commission created by Governor Perdue, news that the Association’s Health Benefit Trust had requested permission from the Insurance Commissioner to return a portion of its surplus to member firms and approval of a modest dues increase beginning in 2012.  The NCBA honored William D. “Bill” Johnson, an attorney and Chairman, President and CEO of Progress Energy, Inc., for his service to the profession and his community at a luncheon during the meeting.
